What Causes Itching Breasts?

Itchy Breasts is something that most women have to deal with, it is not only uncomfortable and embarrassing but can also be a sign of more serious health concerns.
However it is common to have itchy breasts right before the menstrual period when breasts tend to be swollen and may cause the skin to stretch thus causing the itching.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding is another phase of a woman's life when itchy breasts can occur. During Pregnancy the breasts tend to swell in readiness for breastfeeding, this causes the skin to stretch and may cause some drying thus leading to the itching. Vitamin E Oil can help with keeping the skin moist thereby reducing the itching. Breastfeeding is a time when moisture accumulates which can cause fungus that feeds on the keratin on the skin to thrive. This leads to to breast fungus and itching breasts.
Although occasional bouts of itching breasts is to be expected, if the condition persists and does not subside with creams then it is advisable to consult a doctor.
